Author: Shaikh Sadi (died A.D. 1291); scribe: Muhammad bin Ishaq Begins : حکیم سخن برزن آفریں پذیر و پرش کریم خطا بخش بنام خداوند جان آفریں خداوند بخشنده دستگیر 10 illustrations of the Mughal school; and seals of the Alwar State. The calligraphy of this manuscript is remarkably fine. Lent by the Government Museum, Alwar (Rajasthan). GULISTAN (A didactic composition) Foll. 156; size 21.5 x 13.5 cm; paper; Nast'aliq script; Persian; dated A.D. 1564. Author: Shaikh S'adi, scribe : Muhammad Bāqir. The fly-leaf has a pear-shaped Imperial seal of Shahjahan; the manuscript is written in a most exquisite hand and has decorated margins with rich floral and animal designs in gold. The manuscript is of great historical value inasmuch as it bears two inscriptions of Shahjahan.
