The colophon states that in the 25th regnal year of Akbar, this manuscript was purchased through Farrukh Beg Qaqshal, the famous painter, for Rs. 1945. The date of copying is given as A.H. 986 (A.D. 1578) and it is presumed that the painter was Farrukh Beg Qaqshal himself who painted this manuscript before coming to the court of Akbar in 1578.
