________________ is the fruit of the tree of dharma. Through humility the Muni attains name, fame and the desired results."15 3) Simplicity (Arjava): While the sign of ignorance is complexity and crookedness, the sign of wisdom is simplicity or Arjava. Arjava is being simple (Rijobhavah iti arjavah). According to Amrit Chandracharya. the simplicity of mind, word and body, is Arjava. (Vak manah kayo yoganama vakratvam tadarjavam). 10 In otherwords, getting rid of hypocricy and crookedness is simplicity. (Arjavah kautilyadi vivarjitam)." Avoidance of complexity and clumsiness in word, thought and deed, is simplicity."17 Ordinarily, man is something from within and something else from without. The crooked one expresses himself as simple, the conceitful as humble and the greedy as charitable. This has been called the false face or 'persona' by the famous psychologist. C. G. Jung, Unless, one is rid of this persona, and one unmasks oneself, one cannot proceed on the path of dharma. For self-realization, the unity in thought, expression and action is essential. As Jesus Christ said, "Unless you turn to God from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, anyone who humbles himself as the little child, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."18 4) Contentment (Sauca) : Ignorance is depicted in greed; naturally self-consciousness expresses itself in contentment. To get rid of greed is Sauca. According to Amrit Chandracharya, "Freedom from the four kinds of greed for things and beings is Sauca. 19 Sauca' is also defined as 'sucita' or purity. When the soul is purged of all its dross and defilements, it is called sauca. Usually the greed for wealth makes the mind impure. Hence Lord Mahavira said that he who has attachment for wealth cannot be liberated. The passion for enmassing wealth is the sign of greed. One who is attached to matter, cannot rise to the Spirit.
