UVASSAGAHARAM STOTRA
(A very famous and auspicious mantra. It was composed by Acharya Bhadrabahu some two thousand years ago. It is believed that this mantra is capable of removing all obstacles. Here the poet praises the twenty third Tirthankara - Lord Parsvanath.)
Uvassagaharm Pasam Pasam vandami kammaghana mukkam Visahar visninnasam mangal kallan aavasam
= I worship Parsvanath and his Yaksha, who remove all obstacles and destroy misery. Parsvanath has destroyed all karmas. Even the deadliest venom has been destroyed and he is the abode of all that is auspicious.
Visahara fullinga mantam kanthe dharei jo saya manuo,
Tassa gaha rog mari duttah jara janti uvasamam
=If peope can hold this mantra, which is a remover of poison, on their neck/throat, the diseases, death, old age etc would not come to their houses.
Chiththau doore manto, tojja panamo vi bahufalo hoi Nar tiriyeshu va jiva pavanti, na dikkha dogachcham.
=Although, when I surrender at your divine feet, I do not need any mantra. Humans and animals, those who bow down, do not suffer from any miseries and they do not fall into the lowest/ unhappiest state.
Tuh sammate ladhe, Chintamani kappapaya avibhake
Pavanti avighhenam, jiva ayaramaram thanam
=Your faith is like a tree (or a Chinatamani jewel) which grants all wishes All beings, without any obstacles, do attain immortal place
Iha santhuo Mahayash!, bhattibher nibhbharen hiyaena
Ta Deva dijja bohim bhave bhave Pas Jinachanda.
-This way, by the heart which is full of devotion, I praise thee O Mahayash! Please give me the ultimate wisdom, and your bhakti for this life and the lives to come- O Parsva Jineshvar!
