________________ Ludwig Alsdorf's Studies in the Arya K. Bruhn Māc. $ 5. Abbreviations and Bibliography I (Jaina Texts) In our verse quotations, we always follow the modern authors to whom we are referring. See ALSDORF UT: 4 for ALSDORF Ut, and see the references given in this section for the other authors. When we quote directly, we follow the editions mentioned in TRIPATHI Bi, the JĀS editions if available, and further editions if specified in this section. For the titles of works we use our own abbreviations, but we have adopted in some cases the abbreviations used by L. ALSDORF and A. METTE. In references to Prakrit works (JAS, HOERNLE UV, LEUMANN Au), the section symbol ("S") refers to prose sections, old (sutra.s) or modern. The present list supplements to some extent TRIPATHI's Bibliographical Report (1981). Mār. Ms. Abhayadeva AcNi Ayaranga Ab. Auр. AvCü AvHa Avni NiBha Obb. OghNi (OghNiS) Mülācāra (Vattakera/Kundakunda). See LEUMANN ÜB (pp. 16-19: Måc. VII), OKUDA Di (Mac. V), JAIN Pi (Māc. VI). The Māc. numbering seems to be basically the same in all Vattakera editions, and this numbering is common to ALSDORF UL, OKUDA DI, and JAIN Pl. For details of the respective texts refer to ALSDORF Ut passim, OKUDA Di (pp. 6-7, 3435) and JAIN Pi (pp. 24-25). However, the numbering of the Vattakera editions may continue throughout the work or be separated by chapter. It is chapterwise in ALSDORF Ut: 43, OKUDA Di, and JAIN Pi. It is continuous in ALSDORF Ut: 12 and in the 1944 edition of the Murtidevi Jaina Granthamala, which was not known to A. (see fn. 4 of p. 11 of ALSDORF Ut). In the few cases where we quote directly we mention the number in the chapter and the continuous number. - Our paper contains no references to verses found only in the Kundakunda version. Śivarya's Mülaridhana. We quote from ALSDORF (Ut: p. 11, fn. 3), when referring to A., from OETJENS Si (pp. 27, 30-33: Sholapur 1935) when referring to OETJENS, and from Sholapur 1978 when quoting directly. Maranasamādhi (JAS 17,1 (51) Nisīthabhāsya Oghabshadbhasya. See METTE Oh: 150-51. Oghaniryukti. ALSDORF uses the verse numbering of the 1919 edition (Bombay 1919: 1-811), while METTE follows the 1957 edition (Surat 1957: 1-812). We refer always to Bombay, and to Surat (OghNi) only when quoting from METTE. Refer for editions etc. to METTE Oh: 150-51. Bhāsya verses in the Oghaniryukti Pancakalpabhâsya. An edition prepared by the late C. TRIPATHI will be published posthumously.
