Thereafter, our questions started an intense philosophical debate about his right or non-right to kill a living being. Since we talked the whole time in Sanskrithe was also a scholar in that venerable language-the discussion made quite an impact upon everyone there, it became so passionate and analytical. The outcome was that the judge could find no rational or religious justification for taking the life of a living, self-conscious being and he knew it. But in order to get rid of me, the judge lied to me, saying, "All right, Guruji, I will not kill any birds or lions or anything, if you will leave my land now."
Satisfied, I left since it is not my habit to doubt what others tell me or to question their honesty. But when I left the property of the judge and he tried to use his gun, the gun would not fire.
Afterwards, the judge took his gun, a practically new rifle, to a gun expert and the expert said that there was nothing mechanically wrong with it. No one could understand why the gun would not work. Then the judge remembered how I had touched the gun with my hand, what we had talked about and that the gun would not work afterwards.
So the judge sent one of his servants to find me,
