Guruji's visionary work continues with his successor closest disciple, Yuvacharya Amrendra Muniji. Known as the Messenger of Peace, Amrendra Muniji teaches Jain meditation, yoga, nonviolence, and peaceful cooperation. Amrendra Muniji divides his time between ashrams in New Delhi, India, Blairstown, New Jersey, U.S.A. and elsewhere. Among the spiritual and political leaders Muniji and Guruji have met, are: President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Senator Bill Bradley, Premier Mikhail Gorbachev, Pope John Paul, Mother Teresa, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and the 14th Dalai Lama. Jain philosophy can be traced to the 8th century B.C. In modern times, its philosophy of nonviolence has inspired the work of Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, and many others. Guruji established the International Mahavira Jain Mission (IMJM) which is affiliated with the United Nations. In June, 1992, he launched the World Movement of Nonviolence for Peace and the Environment at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Jainism is a dynamic ethical and spiritual viewpoint.
