________________ There is a popular aphorism of Jain Agam that says: Appa Katta Vikattaya, duhana ya suhana ya Appa mittamamittam ca, duppatthiya supatthio Maker, unmaker of pleasure and pain, For the soul is the self itself, none else The soul is a friend or foe, inducing one to good or evil. In order to limit your wants, one may suggest the following: 1. Money is a means for fulfilment of needs and not an end. 2. Conscious efforts should be made to earn money for the satisfaction of one's needs and not for other reasons, such as to impinge on the rights of others. 3. The limits of resources for the satisfaction of needs, comforts and conveniences of life should be determined. 4. In using the principle of usage in wealth, developing the principle of detachment in the accumulation of wealth should be practiced. 95Page Navigation
