JAIN JOURNAL : Vol-XXXIV, No. 1 July 1999 26.2 Satyavākya Kongauņivarmma Dharmma-mahā-rājādhirajaparameśvara, boon lord of Kuvalālapura, lord of Nandagiri, with other titles, Nanniya-Ganga, eldest son of Bhujabala-Ganga and GangaMahādevi, mahāmandalesvara of Mandali-Thousand, was ruling. Barmmisetti, the governor of Kalambūru-nagara, erected the above basadi. The consort of Barmmisetti extended her whole hearted support to her husband to be more bounteous in supporting the cause of their faith and to fulfill the desires of the four fold congregation of the Jainafaith. For the perpetual maintenance of the jinagsha, for the daily worship, for feeding the rşis, Barmmisetti with the approval of NanniyaGanga-Permmādideva made over land below savanana-kere, the in the name of Jaina hermit (Skt. Śramana : Pkt. Savana), consisting of several mattars. (specified), gardens, twelve house sites and an oilmill. Altruistically spurred, Bammisetti made over these gifts, after washing the feet of Subhakīrtideva bhattāraka of the Meşapāşāņagaccha, free of all imposts.
27.1 At Anmakonda (Hanumakonda, Ammakunde, Anmakundā), near Warangal, stands the small temple of Padmākşi: The rock close to which the temple stands, bears on a portion of its dressed surface, sculptures of some Jaina images seated in a row....the Padmaksi temple was originally dedicated to the Jaina goddess kadalālaya and that the pillar was set up there by the lady who built the basadi, Jain temple. At present the Brāhmaṇas of Anmakonda, who have somehow got possession of the temple, worship the goddess in it under the name Padmākṣī, which they believe to be synonymous with Durgā. It is not clear how or when the ownership of the temple passed from the Jainas to the Brāhmaṇas."118 The details of one of the important inscriptions of Andhra Pradesh, in the context of Jainism, are worth pondering.
27.2 Anmakonda, the best of towns, was the capital of the Kakatiya kings and was included in the principality of Sabbi-One Thousand, which formed part of the Kalyāņa Cālukya empire. Perggade Beta, a minister of Tribhuvanamalla Prola (1117-56), Kākati king. Mailama alias Mailamāmbā wife of Beta, caused the famous Kadalalāya-basadi
