Young Jain Professionals (YJP)
We are a network of Jain professionals whose mission is to increase the awareness and understanding of Jain principles and heritage by promoting networking among our members and taking an active role in our community
Our objectives are: * To raise awareness of Jain principles through educational and interactive discussions
* To promote the application of Jainism in the professional and social aspects of our lives
* To engage in community service at our events and promote personal involvement in community service * To provide mentorship to younger Jains, and collaborate with other Jain organizations * To provide opportunities for leadership development
* To facilitate peer networking
We have hosted many successful events that many of you have attended, but there are many of you who may not have not heard of our organization. With that in mind, this year we are embarking on a renewed mission to increase the awareness and presence of our organization so that a much larger audience can take part in our activities and initiatives. We want to elevate YJP to a vocal and active organization that will have local/national presence and will interact closely with similar international organizations.. Here are some initiatives that will help us reach our goals for the year:
New YJP Website: On February 15, we are launching a newly designed website (www.yiponline.org) to provide on-line membership and easy access to information about our initiatives and events.
Periodic YJP eNewsletter: We will be launching a periodic newsletter in March that is designed to the particular needs of YJP audience.
Local Leader Program (LLP): We are rolling out our Local Leader Program in March that will have a local leader who will coordinate and manage our initiatives at the local level. Events Planning: We will be leading/ contributing in the up-coming YJA convention and planning our biggest annual YJP convention in October.
Membership Fee re-structuring: We have made our membership free to reach out and increase our membership base.
