Young Jains of America (YJA) is proud to unveil its 5th biennial convention in Mahwah, New Jersey from July 4th to July 7th. This auspicious event will bring together close to 1000 Jain youth from all across North America and the rest of the world. Realizing that today's youth need more than knowledge, they need application-YJA presents Walking the Path of Jainism as its theme in this year's convention.
With complete online registration, instantaneous session selection, and an educational CD souvenir, YJA Convention 2002 promises to be the most technologically advanced to date. In addition, the convention site, Sheraton Crossroads - Mahwah, offers the most spacious and secluded premises to provide for our new, diverse, and entertaining programs. In addition to this grand convention, YJA has been working diligently with local youth groups to participate on a national level. Selected cities all across the country have been participating on national projects to better their community and YJA. Highlights include a vegetarian restaurant guide, listing franchise restaurants and a collage of Jain youth groups and centers in America.
YJA has also given a brand new facelift to its website - www.yja.org. The new website provides a fresh feel and an exciting new start of the great things to come. To name a few, YJA will now post regular regional updates, leaders in action spotlights, a Jain Holiday calendar, and a youth discussion board.
Finally, YJA has teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build houses all across America for those less fortunate. This one-week long program enables youth to give back to their local community while create lasting friendships. For more information, please visit www.yja.org/h4h.
