Jain Social Group, Los Angeles, has elected a new executive committee which includes Dhiren Mehta, President; Jiten Vasa, Vice President; Raksha Dudheker, Secretary; Dinesh Shah, Treasurer; Rajen Dhami, Public Relations. Members-at-large include: Amrit Bhandari, Rahul Jhobalia, Mayank Shah, and Nauka Shah. A host of events have been planned for the 1996 season. These events include: dinner and entertainment programs, attending a Gujarati play, an overnight picnic, a talent show and a medical expo in collaboration with the Jain Center of Southern California. Jain Association of Young Adults (JAYA), Los Angeles, has elected a new executive committee which includes Neha Shah, President; Ashita Shah, Vice President; Rikin Shah, Secretary; Vaishalee Shah, Treasurer: Sachin Shah, Public Relations. Members-at-large include Harit Parekh, Pina Shah, Shradha Dedhia, and Jalpa Dalal. "Jivan Sanskar,"an interactive workshop with emphasis on Ahimsa, animals, environment and their interconnection, led by Rae Sikora and Zoe Weil of Philadelphia, PA was organized in March, 1996. A large group of JAYA and JCYC (Jain Center Youth Council, Los Angeles) members are planning to attend YJA's Second Biennial Convention from July 4 -7, 1996 in San Francisco, CA. Kachchhi Oswal Jain Association of North America (KOJAIN), has been formed by 700 families living in the United States and Canada. Following an approval of the constitution an executive committee has been elected which includes Harilal ShahCA, President: Damji Rambhia-CT, Vice President; Navin DedhiaCA, Secretary; and Kala Jain-VA, Treasurer. Regional Directors include Dinesh Chheda-NJ, Nalini Dharamsey-CA, Manoj DharamsiVA, Premchand Gada-TX, Mulchand Gala-OH, Pinky Jain-NY, Rukmini Kenia-MA, Kalyanji Mota-CA, Shefali Rambhia- Ont., Sandeep Savla-GA), and Laxmichand Shah-IL. Kachchhi Oswals converted from Rajput to Jain and were originally established in Oshla Nagri of Rajasthan before migrating to Kachchh, the largest Taluka of Gujarat State in India.
