From Himalayas to the sea this land of emperors became famous as Bhāratavarşa deriving its name from Bharata."
Bhagavāna Rşabhadeva crowned his eldest son and announced that this land ruled by Bharata will be called Bhāratavarşa.
Queen Yaśasvatī, wife of Bhagavāna Rșabhadeva, gave birth to Bharata, the first Cakravarti. On his name this area became famous as Bharata Kśetra in the three worlds.
In the Himavata state the wife of Nābhirāya, Marudevi gave birth to Rşabha whose son was Bharata. Rşabha gave his state to Bharata ad became an ascetic. This country got its name Bhāratavarșa from Bharata. 10
Rşabhadeva gave Bharata the southern area known as Himavat. This country got its name Bhāratavarșa from the name of that sage Bharata."
In the ancient period there was a great sage named Bharata the son of Rşabha. On his name this is called Bharata Khanda. 2
The elder son of Jina Rşabhadeva was the virtuous great yogi Bharata, from whose name this country derives its name Bhāratavarşa. 13
His (Nabhi's) son was Rşabha. Rşabha's son was Bharata. This country takes the name Bhāratavarşa from his name.!
Thus almost all Jain and Hindu Purānas clearly mention that this country takes the name Bhāratavarşa from Rşabhadeva's son Bharata alone.
