“साहु वा सङ्को वा,
सदारसंतोससायरो हुज्जा ।। सो उत्तमो मणुस्सो,
नायव्वो थोवसंसारों" ॥२०॥
"पुरिसत्थेसु पवट्टइ,
___ जो पुरिसो धम्म-अत्थपमुहेसु । अनुन्नमनाबाह,
मज्झिमरुवो हवइ एसो" ॥२१।।
मध्यम पुरुष २१. धर्म, अर्थ, काम जो सैवे, सतत मोक्ष की
भावना भाये सौ मानव मध्यम कहलाये।
उत्तम पुरुष जोगी ही, साधक हो, दुनियादारी से जुदा हो, भक्त हो, गृहस्थ हो, दुनियादारी में फँसा हो, जो भी आवक स्वदारसंतोष में आस्था रखे सी उत्तम है, और उसका अल्प संसार शेष है।

20. Amonk, Or a layman completely faithful towards his spouse, Both are good persons and shall wander in samsara for
only a short while. NB Jain ascetics practise complete and absolute chastity. Laypersons do not. But a layman who is completely faithful to his spouse also deserves to be
held in esteem.
Conduct of the Average 21. One who makes unceasing efforts in the four fields
__of endeavour, Dharma kpiety), Artha {profit}, Kama {pleasure and
Moksha {liberation}, Is the Average person.
