Gommatesvara Commemoration Volume
Sravanvbelgola would correspond to Sunday, 13th March, 981 A. D., which satisfies all the data including astral indications laid down in the Bahubali-caritra. And, this is the date now accepted by Pt. Kailashchandra Sastri and other present-day scholars, and on its basis, too, the present one-thousandth anniversary of the Gommatesvara is being celebrated with unprecedented grandeur and
enthusiasm.
