________________ remind one of Gaudapada who discusses the concepts of Bahiratman and Antaratman, although he calls them Vishva and Tejas. According to the author of the present work Bahiratman and Antaratman finally lead us to the all pervading Atman or Paramatman. Jain Philosophy is very important in several ways. Its doctrine of anekanta, its logic of Fata and its categories of 017-317, TH-37TH etc., and a special doctrine of Astikaya, if properly worked out, may lead to important developments in philosophical thonght. Icar, the author of “ Samadhi Shataka” was brought up in this reach tradition of Jainism and with his creative genius he enriched the Jain world of philosophy. The main problem of Samadhi Shataka is regarding the determination of the status of Atman. In fact, to determine the status of Atman is the basic problem before all systems of philosophy like Advaita, Visistadvaita etc. Jainism also thinks that the Atman is self-luminous and of the nature of Ananda
