It is also probable that the original Satruñjayamāhātmya" was written, as claimed by the poet, during the reign of one of the Sīlādityas of Valabhī, and afterwards in the later period interpolations were made in the body of this Jaina Māhātmya. If this is accepted, then we have to assign the original work before the last quarter of the eighth century, which is the date for the last king of Valabhi, bearing that name. REFERENCES 1.
