________________ COMPASSIONATE BHAGAVAN MAHAVIR After completing its age in the Mahashukra dimension this being was born as the son of king Jitshatru and queen Bhadra of 26 Raksha city in Bharat area. His name was Nandan. One day when he saw the ever changing hue and colour of the evening atmosphere he was overwhelmed with feelings of detachment. As the colour of the evening sky is changing every moment, this life, its pleasures, indulgences and span too are momentary. La He spent all his time engrossed in meditation and penance. Ascetic Nandan did a harsh penance of 1180645 onemonth-fasts one after the other for a hundred thousand years. His body became frail and emaciated.
