This qui consists of four series; the qizoti in the first allows taking all flavours; in the second, food without ghee etc.; in the third, food excluding articles like gram etc.; and in the fourth, boiled rice without spices or pure gruel;each of the series takes up 472 days or as our text tells us, one year three months and twenty-two days. Barnett has the following note:"As two meals are reckoned to one day,and the fasts run on without intermission, the series extends over 2 ( 274 ), 3 ( 78 ), 4 (376H), 8x3 (53), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 34 x3, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 8x3, 4, 3, 2 consecutive days-in all 472 days." The four series taken together will extend to 4 x 472, i. e., 1888 days, or 5 years, 2 months and 28 days.
