of 26th March and then it was taken in a procession from his house at Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg to the cremation ground at Adarsh Nagar, passing through Trimurti Circle and Moti Doongri road. His body was shown in a sitting posture, seated in a gracefully decorated baikunthi. People of all sects and communities not only from the town of Jaipur but from many other near-by places had joined the procession and paid their homage to the departed soul. Well-decorated horses and elephants formed a part of the majestic procession. Coins and dry fruits were being showered around the procession by family members. The cremation was carried out in a traditional way in a manner similar to that for the Jain saints. In fact, he had been leading a pious, austere and saintly life for he last many years
Shri Chordia had been Chairman of All India Sadhumargi Jain Sangh, Bikaner for 6 years and patron and member of several Jain societies, institutions, schools and hospitals. He had accompanied Acharya Shri Nanesh at one time to a village near Ratlam where was instrumental in inspiring all the local people of a village 'Balai' to stop taking meat and start living on pure vegetarian meals. He had been regularly observing two-day, three-day, fourday and eight-day fasts. Jain community of Jaipur feels proud of having such a devoted, dedicated, dignified and graceful person with them.
