Preface
[79]
It is said that the most part of it is obtained. This is called the order of the parts of the original natures. In the same way, the division of the karma-pradeśas has also been considered in great detail in the subsequent natures.
Now the consideration of the four types of bandhas (bondages) together from the remaining Anuyogadvāras is done.
(2-3) Sarvabandha-Nosarvabandha Prarupana - The binding of all the prakṛtis (dispositions) of a karma is called sarvabandha, and the binding of less than that is called nosarvabandha. Jñānāvaraṇa and Antarāyakarma have only sarvabandha, not nosarvabandha. Darśanāvaraṇa, Mohanīya, and Nāmakarma have both sarvabandha and nosarvabandha. Vedanīya, Āyu, and Gotrakarma have only sarvabandha, because their prakṛtis are sapratipakṣī (mutually opposed), so the binding of all of them together is not possible for any jīva. This is the description of prakṛtibandha (bondage of dispositions).
Regarding sthitibandha (bondage of duration), the binding of all the highest durations stated for a karma is called sarvabandha, and the binding of less than that is called nosarvabandha. Regarding anubhāgabandha (bondage of intensity), the binding of all the competing anubhāgas (intensities) present in a karma is called sarvānubhāgabandha, and the binding of less than that is called nosarvānubhāgabandha. Regarding pradeśabandha (bondage of spatial extent), the binding of all the pradeśas (spatial extents) of the intended karma is called sarvabandha, and the binding of less than that is called nosarvabandha.
(4-5) Utkṛṣṭabandha-Anuttkṛṣṭabandha Prarupana - In prakṛtibandha, the prarupana (exposition) of utkṛṣṭa (superior) and anuttkṛṣṭa (inferior) bandha is not possible. Regarding sthitibandha, the binding of the highest duration stated for a karma is called utkṛṣṭabandha. For example, when the sattarkoḍākoḍī-pramāṇa (70 koṭi) utkṛṣṭa sthitibandha of Mohanīyakarma occurs, the final niṣeka (influx) will be called utkṛṣṭa sthitibandha. All the variations of sthiti (duration) that are one moment less than the utkṛṣṭa sthitibandha are called anuttkṛṣṭa sthitibandha. Regarding anubhāgabandha, the binding of the highest anubhāga is called utkṛṣṭabandha, and the binding of less than that is called anuttkṛṣṭabandha. Regarding pradeśabandha, the binding of the highest pradeśas is called utkṛṣṭabandha, and the binding of less than that is called anuttkṛṣṭabandha.
(6-7) Jaghanyabandha-Ajaghanyabandha Prarupana - In prakṛtibandha, the prarupana of jaghanya (inferior) and ajaghanya (non-inferior) bandha is not possible. Regarding sthitibandha, the binding of the lowest sthiti (duration) of karmas is called jaghanyabandha, and the binding of the higher sthitis is called ajaghanyabandha. Regarding anubhāgabandha, the binding of the lowest anubhāga is called jaghanyabandha, and the binding of more than that is called ajaghanyabandha. Regarding pradeśabandha, the binding of all the lowest pradeśas is called jaghanyabandha, and the binding of more than that is called ajaghanyabandha.
