सण्णीसु उत्पादेंता गब्भोवतंतिएसु उप्पादेंति, णो सम्मुच्छिमेसु ॥ १७॥
संज्ञी तिर्यंचोंमें भी प्रथम सम्यक्त्वको उत्पन्न करनेवाले तिर्यंच जीव गर्भजोंमें ही उसे उत्पन्न करते हैं, न कि सम्मूर्छन जन्मवालोंमें ॥ १७ ॥
गम्भोवकंतिएसु उप्पादेंतो पज्जत्तएसु उप्पादेंति, णो अपज्जत्तएसु ॥ १८ ॥
गर्भज तिर्यंचोंमें भी प्रथम सम्यक्त्वको उत्पन्न करनेवाले तिर्यंच जीव उसे पर्याप्तकोंमें ही उत्पन्न करते हैं, न कि अपर्याप्तकोंमें ॥ १८ ॥
पज्जत्तएसु उप्पादेंता दिवसपुधत्तप्पहुडि जावमुवरिमुप्पादेंति, णो हेट्ठादो॥१९॥
पर्याप्तक तिर्यंचोंमें भी प्रथम सम्यक्त्वको उत्पन्न करनेवाले तिर्यंच जीव दिवसपृथक्त्वसे लेकर ऊपरके कालमें ही उसे उत्पन्न करते हैं, उसके नीचेके कालमें नहीं उत्पन्न करते ॥ १९ ॥
दिवसपृथक्त्वसे यहां बहुत दिवसपृथक्त्वोंको ग्रहण करना चाहिये, न कि सात आठ दिनोंको; क्योंकि, 'पृथक्त्व' शब्द यहां विपुल संख्याका वाचक है ।
एवं जाव सव्वदीव-समुद्देसु ॥२०॥ इस प्रकारसे सब द्वीप-समुद्रोंमें तिर्यंच जीव प्रथम सम्यक्त्वको उत्पन्न करते हैं ॥ २०॥ तिरिक्खा मिच्छाइट्ठी कदिहि कारणेहि पढमसम्मत्तं उप्पादेंति ? ॥ २१ ॥ तिर्यंच मिथ्यादृष्टि जीव कितने कारणोंसे प्रथम सम्यक्त्वको उत्पन्न करते हैं ? ॥ २१ ॥
तीहि कारणेहि पढमसम्मत्तमुप्पादेंति- केई जाइस्सरा, केई सोऊण, केई जिणबिंब द₹ण ॥ २२ ॥
पूर्वोक्त पंचेन्द्रिय तिर्यंच जीव तीन कारणोंसे प्रथम सम्यक्त्वको उत्पन्न करते हैं- कितने ही तिर्यंच जीव जातिस्मरणसे, कितने ही धर्मोपदेशको सुनकर और कितने ही जिनप्रतिमाका दर्शन करके उसे उत्पन्न करते हैं ॥ २२ ॥
मणुस्सा मिच्छादिट्ठी पढमसम्मत्तमुप्पादेति ॥ २३ ॥ मनुष्य मिथ्यादृष्टि प्रथम सम्यक्त्वको उत्पन्न करते हैं ॥ २३ ॥ उप्पादेंता कम्हि उप्पादेंति ? ॥ २४ ॥ प्रथम सम्यक्त्वको उत्पन्न करनेवाले मिथ्यादृष्टि मनुष्य किस अवस्थामें उसे उत्पन्न करते
