[244] In the Chakkhandagama, the abodes of the living beings
[198] The number of the upashama (subsiding) living beings is innumerable times more than the number of the kshapaka (destructive) living beings. [199] The special feature is that the number of the sukshmasa mparaya (subtle-destructive) upashama living beings is particularly more among the lobhakashaya (greed-afflicted) living beings.
[200] The number of the sukshmasa mparaya kshapaka living beings is innumerable times more than the number of the sukshmasa mparaya upashama living beings. [201] The number of the apramatta-samyata (vigilant-restrained) akshapaka (non-destructive) and anupashama (non-subsiding) living beings is innumerable times more than the number of the kshapaka living beings.
[202] The number of the pramatta-samyata (negligent-restrained) living beings is innumerable times more than the number of the apramatta-samyata living beings. [203] The number of the samyata-asamyata (restrained-unrestrained) living beings is asankhyeya (innumerable) times more than the number of the pramatta-samyata living beings.
[204] The number of the sasadana-samyagdrishti (right-believer with partial right faith) living beings is asankhyeya times more than the number of the samyata-asamyata living beings. [205] The number of the samyagmithyadrishti (right-wrong-believer) living beings is innumerable times more than the number of the sasadana-samyagdrishti living beings.
[206] The number of the asanyata-samyagdrishti (unrestrained-right-believer) living beings is asankhyeya times more than the number of the samyagmithyadrishti living beings. [207] The number of the mithyadrishti (wrong-believer) living beings is ananta (infinite) times more than the number of the asanyata-samyagdrishti living beings.
[208] The exposition of the relative abundance of samyaktva (right faith) in the guna sthanas (stages of spiritual development) of asanyata-samyagdrishti, samyata-asamyata, pramatta-samyata, and apramatta-samyata is like a flood.
[209] Similarly, the relative abundance of samyaktva in the two guna sthanas of apurvakarana (non-origination) and anivrittikarana (non-cessation) should be understood.
[210] The upashama (subsiding) is the highest.
