[162] The Jīvattḥāṇa (Stages of Spiritual Development) in the Ṣaṭkhaṇḍāgama:
270. The duration of the 270 guṇasthānas (stages of spiritual development) is like the flow of a river.
271. The duration of the pariharaviśuddhisaṃyatas (those with the stage of partial purification) and the pramattasaṃyatas (careless ascetics) and apramattasaṃyatas (vigilant ascetics) is like the flow of a river.
272. The duration of the sūkṣmasāmparāyikaśuddhisaṃyatas (those with the stage of subtle spiritual development) and the upasaṃkramā (those in the stage of subsidence) and kṣapakās (those in the stage of annihilation of karmas) is like the flow of a river.
273. The duration of the yathākhyātavihāraśuddhisaṃyatas (those with the stage of well-manifested conduct) is like the flow of a river.
274. The duration of the saṃyatāsaṃyatas (the ascetics and the non-ascetics) is like the flow of a river.
275. The duration of the asaṃyatas (the non-ascetics) from the mithyādṛṣṭi (false belief) guṇasthāna to the asaṃyatasamyagdṛṣṭi (non-ascetic with right belief) guṇasthāna is like the flow of a river.
276. According to the exposition of darśanāṇuvāda (the doctrine of perception), for how long do the mithyādṛṣṭis (those with false belief) exist among the cakṣudarśanīyas (those with physical vision)? They exist for all durations, depending on the different types of jīvas (living beings).
277. With respect to a single jīva, the minimum duration of the mithyādṛṣṭis among the cakṣudarśanīyas is an antarmuhūrta (less than 48 minutes).
278. The maximum duration of the mithyādṛṣṭis among the cakṣudarśanīyas is two thousand sāgaropamas (vast periods of time).
279. The duration of the cakṣudarśanīyas from the sāsādanasamyagdṛṣṣṭi (the stage of attaining right belief) guṇasthāna up to the kṣīṇakasāya-vītarāga-chadmastha (the stage of destruction of passions, detachment, and concealment) guṇasthāna is like the flow of a river.
280. The duration of the acakṣudarśanīyas (those without physical vision) from the mithyādṛṣṭi guṇasthāna up to the kṣīṇakasāya-vītarāga-chadmastha guṇasthāna is like the flow of a river.
