1. The duration of kāyagati (mobile beings) is as follows:
148. Compared to other jīvas, all kāyagati jīvas have an infinite duration.
149. The minimum duration of the aforementioned jīvas is equal to the duration of a kṣudrabhavagrahana (a very short-lived existence) of a single jīva.
150. The maximum duration of the aforementioned jīvas is an antarmuhūrta (less than 48 minutes).
151. The duration of sūkṣma (subtle) pṛthivīkāyika (earth-bodied), jala-kāyika (water-bodied), tejas-kāyika (fire-bodied), vāyu-kāyika (air-bodied), vanaspati-kāyika (plant-bodied), and nigoda jīvas, as well as their sāparyāpta (fully developed) and aparyāpta (underdeveloped) counterparts, is the same as the duration of sūkṣma ekendirya (single-sensed) sāparyāpta and aparyāpta jīvas.
152. The duration of vanaspati-kāyika jīvas is the same as that of ekendirya jīvas.
153. Compared to other jīvas, nigoda jīvas have an infinite duration.
154. The minimum duration of nigoda jīvas is equal to the duration of a kṣudrabhavagrahana of a single jīva.
155. The maximum duration of nigoda jīvas is equal to two and a half pudgalaparivartana (cycles of matter).
156. The duration of bādara (gross) nigoda jīvas is the same as that of bādara pṛthivīkāyika jīvas.
157. Compared to other jīvas, mithyādṛṣṭi (wrong-believing) kāyika and kāyika-paryāpta jīvas have an infinite duration.
158. The minimum duration of the aforementioned jīvas is an antarmuhūrta.
159. The maximum duration of the aforementioned jīvas is two thousand sāgaropama (ocean-like) years, or two thousand sāgaropama years.
