________________ 3 - 62/4, 377 - 2009 translation of the 4 main Kundakunda's philosophical treatises from Prakrit and Sanskrit into Russian: Pravacanasara, Samayasara, Niyamasara and Pancastikayasara. Now she has finished second book devoted to Digambar Philosophy including translation from Prakrit and Sanskrit into Russian and some other Kundakund's work (as Barasa-anuvekkha, Rayana-sara and Attha-pahuda).Tattvatha-adhigama-sutra of Umasvati, Purushartha-siddhyaupaya of Umasvati, Purusharthsiddhyaupaya of Amritachandra Suri, Dravaya-samgraha of Nemichandra Siddhanta Chakravartin and Akalanka Bhatta's Svarupasamgraha. The importance of the subject of the present study is determined by the significant contribution made by the philosophical legacy of the above-mentioned Digambara thinkers to the formation of the Jaina doctrine, which has been repeatedly affirmed both by adherents of Jainism themselves and by scholarly authorities on Jaina Philosophy. The works by Umasvami ad Kundakunda are essentially the first systematized compendia of philosophical and religious thought in the history of Jainism. In the treatise by Amrtacandra Suri, we find the earliest detailed substantiation of the teaching on non-violence (ahimsa). The work by Nemichandra is a representative sample of Jaina Philosophical thought in its classical from. In the Jaina tradition itself, all the above mentioned thinkers are considered authoritative teachers and masters, as well as characteristic representatives of Digambara Jaina philosophy. Therefore, uncovering the place occupied by the Digambara tradition in the history of Jaina philosophy and the significant features of Jaina philosophical thought as a whole and to analyzing the specificity of the Digambara school itself, a task that is still being acutely faced by Russian Indology. Morever, the present study is the first one in world Indology consistently to expose, with the works of the Digambara thinkers as materials, the general traits of the Jaina doctrine and to elucidate the peculiar features of the Digambara approach to describing the different structures and strata of reality, as well as to analyze the principal categories of the Jaina doctrine in the works of the above-mentioned authors. The author has considered it expedient to make a fresh Russian translation of the Tattvartha-adhigamasutra by Umasvami (it was translated for the first time by A.A. Terentiev and published as an appendix to: M.T. Stepanyants. Vostochnaya filosofiya, Moscow: Vostochnaya Literatura, 1997) based on the following considerations: first, the existing Russian translation can be hardly considered satisfactory or readable even by professional Indologists who
