Jain Literature Society.
The annual meeting of the members of the European Section took place at the India Office Library, London, on January 20th, 1913 The President of the Society, F. W. TAOMAS, Esq; M. A,, Ph.D., and the Hon. Secretary Mr. H. WARREN, were present. The following report & accounts for the year 1912 were read and approved.
During the period which has elapsed since the last meeting of the European Section, which took place on February 19th, 1912, the following events have occurred:
Prof. Dr. HERMANN JACOBI, of the University of Bonn, Germany, has accepted the Office of Honour as President of the Society.
The late Mr. G. M. MEAPANI, B.A, LL B., one of the Society's most active members, was obliged to leave London in July, 1912, on account ef an illness from which he did not recover While in fombay, he was nevertheless successful in procuring for the Society the following three dona. tions, which were receivels in London, in August:
£70 for the publication of an English translation of the Pravachanasara of Kundakunda Acharya: arrangements for the translation are still in progress.
£70 for the Svadvadamuniari which is now being translated by our member in St. Petersburg, Dr. MIRONOW, Ph. D.
£ 35, part of a promised £70, for the Saddarsanasamuccaya, which is being translated by our member, Prof. Dr L. SUALI. :: This money, £ 175 in all, is banked with Messrs. BARCLAY & Co., Ltd., Bankers, Pall Mall East, London, in the joint names of F. W. THOMAS, Esq., M. A, Ph., D., and Mr. H. WARREN. The following new members have joined the Society.
