Sir,
With reference to the correspondence ending with your letter No. T. 91/7 dated the 29 th July 1911, I have the honour to inform you that your application for permission to present an address to His Majesty the King Emperor was for. warded to Government for orders.
2. I am directed by Government to inform you that Government, while fully recognising the spirit of loyalty which has promoted the desire of the Jains of Bombay to present personally an address to His Majesty the King Emperor, regret that it will not be possible to accede to their wishes.
3. The Jains of India may, however, if they so desire, submit an application to be allowed to send an address on the occasion of the Coronation Darbar at Delhi and the application will be considered by Government. I have however to make it clear to you that the movement must have the support of the whole body of influential Jains outside Bombay.
I have the honour to be, .
