National Seminar on to 'Social Consciousness and Jainism' and
successfully organized March 5, 2010, Parshwanath Vidyapeeth, Varanasi. One day National Seminar on 'Social consciousness and Jainism" was organized as a joint venture of International School for Jaina Studies and Parshwanath Vidyapeeth, Varanasi on 5th March 2010 at Parshwanath Vidyapeeth. This seminar was one of nine seminars organized under a series of Seminars by International School for Jaina Studies (ISJS) on 'Social consciousness and Jainism." These
Seminars were organized in nine major cities/Jaina Centers of India- Atul, Banglore, Chennai, Delhi, Indore, Jaipur, Hastinapur, Mumbai, Vijayvada and Varanasi on different
dates in between February to March, 2010. At Varanasi it was organized on 5th March 2010 at Parshwanath Vidyapeeth.
Prof. Kamalsheel, Dean Faculty of Arts, Banaras Hindu University was the Chief Guest and Prof. K.D.. Tripathi, Professor Emeritus, Faculty of SVDV, BHU Chaired the Inaugural session. Famous Industrialist Shri Dhanpat Raj Ji Bhansali was present as a Guest of Honour. Shri Indrabhooti Barar, Secretary, Parshwanath Vidyapeeth welcomed the guests and Dr. Shugan C. Jain, Director, ISJS presented the Keynote address. Total 10 papers were presented in this one day seminar.
