Jina Vacana is an unique book of its kind compiled and translated by Shri Ramanlal C. Shah. It contains some of the important verses extracted from five Jaina Agamas, i. e., Acārānga, Sūtrakrtānga, Praśnavyākarana, Uattarādhyayana and Dasavaikālika. Mr. Shah has translated these verses in simple language with a view that a common reader too could grasp it easily and get acquainted with different aspects of Jaina Ethics, Religion and Philosophy. These verses exhibit the concept of Dharma, Adharma, five great vows ---- Truth, Non-violance, Non-stealing, Non-possession and Celibacy, means of Salvation - Sanyagjñāna, Samyagdarśana and Samyagcāritra; nature of four types of Kaşāyas (passions) — Anger, Pride, Deceite and Greed and their role in Karma bondage; importance of self-control and penance; transitoriness of worldly objects — wealth, house, etc. futility of sensual pleasure, ideal relationship between teacher (Guru ) and disciple alongwith code of conduct for Jaina ascetics and lay devotees.
