The name of the dialect is गोल्ला and not गौडी as surmised by Denielou and Bhatt. Golla country, as a part of Maharastra is well known in medieval literature For example MW notes the word from Hemacandra's Parisistaparvan, and PSM.

1 केलो मोरो 'peacock' is otherwise unknown is this possibly a
corruption of चोरो थेणो ? 2 तंगो meaning नराहियो 'prince' is also otherwise unknown. Names
of many Rastrakuta kings ended in -तुक. 3. DN 7, 90. विलास-जषणेसु विच्छेओ. 4. DN. 6, 56 पूरण सुप्पे According to PSM. सुप्प- is also mas.
