हो नरक भूमि के तीक्ष्ण शस्त्रों पर गिरते हैं। प्रथम पृथ्वी से सात पृथ्वी तक के नारकी गिरते ही क्रमशः ७ योजन ३ कोस, १५ योजन २ कोस, ३१ योजन १ कोस, ६२ योजन २ कोस, १२५ योजन, २५० योजन एवं ५०० योजन ऊपर उछलते हैं। पुनः शस्त्रों पर आ पड़ते हैं ।
पुराने नारकी नये नारकी को देखकर अति कठोर शब्द बोलते हुए मारते हैं, फिर परस्पर मारकाट शुरू हो जाती है। २८. प्रश्न: नारकी जीव क्या खाते हैं ? उस आहार में कितना दुःख देने की क्षमता है ?
उत्तर : प्रथम पृथ्वीस्थ नारकी जीव श्वानादि निकृष्ट प्राणियों के सड़े हुये कलेवरों की दुर्गन्ध से भी अधिक दुर्गन्ध वाली मिट्टी खाते हैं। वंशादि पृथ्वियों के नारकी इससे असंख्यातगुणितं अशुभ मिट्टी का भक्षण करते हैं जो उन्हें अल्प मात्रा में मिलती है।
प्रथम नरक के प्रथम सीमन्त नामक पटल के नारकी जिस मिट्टी का आहार करते हैं, वह मिट्टी यदि मनुष्य-क्षेत्र में डाल दी जाय तो वह अपनी दुर्गन्ध से आधे कोस के जीवों को मार डालेगी। इसी प्रकार प्रत्येक पटल के आहार की मिट्टी क्रम से आधा-आधा कोस अधिक पृथ्वी स्थित जीवों को मारने की क्षमता वाली है। प्रति पटल आधा-आधा कोस वृद्धिंगत होते हुए सप्तम
