६१. प्रश्न : इन्द्रिय के और कितने भेद होते हैं ?
उत्तर : इन्द्रिय के पाँच भेद भी होते हैं- (9) स्पर्शन (२) रसना
(३) घाण (४) चक्षु और (१) कर्ण। इन्द्रिय के भेदों की अपेक्षा जाति नामकर्म के उदय से जीव का एकेन्द्रिय, दीन्द्रिय आदि जातियों में वर्गीकरण दुआ है। जिन जीवों के बाह्य चिह्न (द्रव्येन्द्रिय) और उसके द्वारा होने वाला स्पर्श, रस, गन्ध, रूप, शब्द इन विषयों का ज्ञान हो, उनको क्रमशः एकेन्द्रिय, द्वीन्द्रिय त्रीन्द्रिय, चतुरिन्द्रिय, पंचेन्द्रिय जीव कहते हैं। तिर्यच गति को छोड़कर शेष गतियों में पंचेन्द्रिय जीव ही होते हैं, परन्तु तिथंच गति में
