. १०. प्रश्न : अविरत सम्यक्त्व गुणस्थान किसे कहते हैं ? उत्तर : जहाँ मिथ्यात्व, सम्यग्मिथ्यात्व और सम्यक्त्व प्रकृति तथा
अनन्तानुबन्धी क्रोध, मान, माया एवं लोभ, इन सात प्रकृतियों के उपशम, क्षय अथवा क्षयोपशम से सम्यग्दर्शन तो हो जाता है परन्तु अप्रत्याख्यानावरणादि चारित्रमोह की प्रकृतियों का उदय रहने से पंच पाप के त्यागरूप परिणाम नहीं होते हैं, उसे अविरत सम्यक्त्व कहते हैं। इस गुणस्थानवी जीव इन्द्रियों के विषयों से तथा त्रस और स्थावर जीवों की हिंसा से विरत नहीं होता है तथापि अन्तरंग में प्रशम, संवेग, अनुकम्पा और आस्तिक्य गुण के प्रकट हो जाने से अन्याय, हिंसा आदि पाप-कार्यों में प्रवृत्त नहीं होता है एवं आसक्तिपूर्वक भोग नहीं
