Glossary of Technical Terms
Sapaka vīryānāśa-śavira - A living being whose development is hindered by the rise of the karma that obstructs the manifestation of its energy.
Bāla horya-antarāya - A living being who, despite having the capacity to perform worldly activities, is unable to do so due to the rise of the karma that obstructs the manifestation of its energy.
Bāhya nivṛtti - The imagination of the external form of the senses.
Bhaya mohanīyakarma - The karma that, due to its rise, causes fear to arise either with or without a reason.
Bhayapratyaya avadhijñāna - The knowledge of a specific state that arises without the need for observance of vows and other spiritual practices, but is manifested merely by being born in that state.
Bhava vipākī prakṛti - The nature that bears fruit primarily due to the predominance of the state of existence (bhava).
Bhavya - Those who are capable of attaining liberation or have the potential for the manifestation of right faith, knowledge, and conduct.
Bhāva - The transformation of the substances of the soul and the non-soul in their own respective natures.
Bhāvānuyogadvāra - The perspective in which the nature of the intended dharma is contemplated.
Bhāṣakarma - The inauspicious dispositions of the soul, such as false belief, due to which karmic particles take the form of karmic bondage.
Bhāvaprāṇa - The qualities of the soul, such as knowledge, perception, and consciousness.
Bhāvalēśyā - The specific transformation of the soul, which is accompanied by attachment and aversion. It is caused by the rise of passions, and hence, the activity influenced by the rise of passions is called bhāvalēśyā.
Bhāvavēda - The inclination or desire for sexual intercourse, which arises due to the rise of the karma that produces the external signs corresponding to the nature of the sex-determining karma.
Bhāvacakṣu - The knowledge that arises due to the senses and the mind.
