Chapter on Saptatikas
The eight Prakrtic bondage-places are considered to be the masters. Without the karmas of age and deluding, the remaining six karmas are bound only in the Sukshmasa
mparay gunasthana. Therefore, the Sukshmasa
mparay gunasthana is the one where the soul is the master of six Prakrtic bondage-places. The bondage of the Vedaniya karma occurs in the eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth gunasthanas, so the beings with these three gunasthanas are considered to have one Prakrtic measure.
The duration of these bondage-places is such that the eight Prakrtic bondage-places occur at the time of the bondage of the Ayukarma, and the minimum and maximum bondage-period of the Ayukarma is an antarmuhurta. Therefore, one should know that the minimum and maximum duration of the eight Prakrtic bondage-places is an antarmuhurta.
The minimum duration of the seven Prakrtic bondage-places is an antarmuhurta. Because the Apramattasam
yata being who, after binding the eight fundamental Prakrtis, begins the bondage of the seven Prakrtis, if he, by ascending the Upasamasreni, attains the Sukshmasa
mparay gunasthana within an antarmuhurta, then the minimum duration of his seven Prakrtic bondage-places is an antarmuhurta. The reason for this is that in the Sukshmasa
mparay gunasthana, the bondage of the six Prakrtic places begins, and the bondage of the seven Prakrtic bondage-places is destroyed.
