पंचम कर्मग्रन्थ
गुणा होने पर भी उत्तरोत्तर बढ़ता हुआ होता है । यानी परिणामों के उत्तरोत्तर विशुद्ध होने से उत्तरोत्तर कम-कम समय में अधिकअधिक द्रव्य की निर्जरा होती है।
इस प्रकार गुणोणि का विधान जानना चाहिये | गुणश्रोणि के उक्त विवेचन से यह बात स्पष्ट हो जाती है कि जीव ज्यों-ज्यों आगे के गुणस्थानों में बढ़ता जाता है, त्यो त्यों उसके असंख्यातगुणी निर्जरा होती है और क्रमशः :संक्लेश की हानि तथा विशुद्धि का प्रकर्ष होने पर आगे-आगे के गुणस्थान कहलाते हैं । अतः अब आगे की गाथा में गुणस्थानों का जघन्य और उत्कृष्ट अन्तराल बतलाते हैं ।
पलियासंबंसमुहू सासणइयरगुण अंतरं हस्त । गुरु मिचछो मे छसट्टी इयरगुणे पुग्गलद्धंतो॥४॥
शब्दार्थ--पलियासंखसमूह-पल्य का असंख्यातवां भाग और अन्तर्मुहूर्त, सासणइयरगुण–सासादन और दूसरे गुणस्थानों का, अंतरं अन्तर. हसं -जधन्य, गुरु -उत्कृष्ट, मिन्छीमिथ्यात्व में, छसट्ठी-दो छियासठ सागरोपम, इपरगुणे-दूसरे गुणस्थानों में, पुग्गलबंतो - कुछ न्यून अर्धपुद्गल परावर्त ।।
गाचार्ष-सासादन और दूसरे गुणस्थानों का जघन्य अन्तर अनुक्रम से पल्योपम का असंख्यातवा भाग और अन्तमुहूर्त है । मिथ्यात्व गुणस्थान का उत्कृष्ट अन्तर दो बार के छियासठ सागर अर्थात् १३२ सागर है और अन्य गुणस्थानों का उत्कृष्ट अन्तर कुछ कम अर्धपुद्गल पराक्र्त है। विशेषार्थ-पूर्व कथन से यह स्पष्ट हो चुका है कि गुणश्रेणियों के जो सम्यक्त्व, देश विरति आदि नाम हैं, वे प्रायः गुणस्थान ही हैं। जैसे कि सम्यक्त्व गुण का जिस स्थान में प्रादुर्भाव होता है वह सम्यक्त्व गुणस्थान, जिस स्थान में देशविरति गुण प्रखर होता है वह देशविरति
