जघन्य वर्गणा से सिद्ध राशि के अनन्तवें भाग गुणित है और ग्राह्य aणा की उत्कृष्ट वर्गणा अपनी जघन्य वर्गणा से अनन्तवें भाग अधिक है ।
यहां पर वर्गणाओं के सोलह भेद' बताने और उनके कथन करने का उद्देश्य यही है कि जो चीज कर्म रूप परिणत होती है, उसके स्वरूप की रूपरेखा दृष्टि में आ जाये ।
ग्रहणयोग्य वर्गणाओं का स्वरूप और उनकी अवगाहना का प्रमाण बतलाकर अब आगे की गाथा में अग्रहण वर्मणाओं के परमाण का कथन करते हैं ।
