स्त्री, पुरुष, नपुंसक इन तीन वेदों में से एक समय में एक ही वेद का तथा हास्य-रति व शोक अरति में से एक समय में एक ही युगल का बंध होता है। अतः मोहनीय कर्म की अट्ठाईस प्रकृतियों में से सम्यग्मिथ्यात्व सम्यक्त्व तथा तीन वेदों में से कोई दो वेद और हास्य- रति, अरति शोक, इन दोनों युगलों में से कोई एक युगल को कम करने से कुल छह प्रकृतियों को कम कर देने पर शेष बाईस प्रकृतियां ही एक समय में बन्ध को प्राप्त होती हैं। यह पहला बंधस्थान है । इस बंधस्थान की बाईस प्रकृतियाँ इस प्रकार हैं
मिथ्यात्व अनन्तानुबंधी कपाय चतुष्क, अप्रत्याख्यानावरण कषाय चतुष्क, प्रत्याख्यानावरण कषाव चतुष्क, संज्बलन कषाय चतुष्क, एक वेद, एक युगल, भय और जुगुप्सा । इस बाईस प्रकृति रूप बंधस्थान का बन्ध केवल पहले गुणस्थान में होता है ।
