तेजोलेश्या, पर्याप्त तथा अपर्याप्त दोनों प्रकार के संशियों में पायी जाती है तथा वह बावर एकेन्द्रिय में भी अपर्याप्त अवस्था में होती है, इसी से उस लेश्या में उपर्युक्त तीन जोवस्थान माने हुये हैं । बादर एकेन्द्रिय को अपर्याप्त अवस्था में तेजोलेश्या मानी जाती है, सो इस अपेक्षा से हि भवनपति, व्यन्तर' आदि देव, जिनमें तेजोलेश्या का सम्भव है वे जब तेजोलेश्यासहित मरकर पृथिवी, पानी या वनस्पति में जन्म ग्रहण करते हैं, तब उनको अर्याल (करण-अपयति - ] अवस्था में कुछ काल तक तेजोलेश्या रहती है ।
पहले चार जोवस्थान के सिवाय अन्य किसी जीवस्थान में एकेन्द्रिय तथा स्थावरकाधिक जीव नहीं है। इसी से एकेन्द्रिय और पाँच स्थावरकाय इन छह मार्गणाओं में पहले चार जीवस्थान माने गये हैं ।
इसका सार संक्षेप में इस प्रकार है: - 'प्रश्न करने पर भगवान् महाबीर, गणधर और गौतम से कहते हैं कि पैंतालिस लाख योजन-प्रमाण मनुष्य-क्षेत्र के भीतर ढाई द्वीप समुद्र में पन्द्रह कर्मभूमि, तीस अकर्मभूमि और छप्पन अन्तद्वीपों में गर्भज मनुष्यों के मल, मूत्र, कफ आदि सभी अशुचि पदार्थों में संमूमि पैदा होते हैं, जिनका देह परिणाम अगुल कं. असंख्यातवें भाग के बराबर हैं, जो असंगती, मिथ्यात्वी तथा अज्ञानी होत हैं और जो अपर्याप्त ही हैं तथा अन्तर्मुहूर्त-मात्र में मर जाते हैं ।
१--" किव्हा नीला काऊ, सेऊलेसा य भवणवंतरिया |
नोइससोहम्मीसा-ण तेऊसेसा मुणेयश्वा । १६३॥"
बृहत्संग्रहणी | अर्थात् भवनपति और व्यन्तर में कृष्ण आदि चार लेखाएँ होती हैं; किन्तु ज्योतिष और सोधर्म ईशान देवलोक में तेजोलेश्या ही होती है। २- पुढवी आउवणस्सह, गमे पज्जल संचये । समनुषाणं दासो, सेसा परिसेहिया ठाणा । "
