जा चुका है कि वक्रमति से नवीन शरीर धारण करने जाते समय इनका उदय होता है और उस समय जीवों के पाँचवें आदि गुणस्थान नहीं होते हैं । इसलिए वैक्रियाष्टक में बताई गई आठ प्रकृतियों का उदयविच्छेद चौथे गुणस्थान के अन्तिम समय में हो जाने से पाँचवें गुणस्थान में उदय नहीं होता है ।
शंका- पंचम गुणस्थानवर्ती मनुष्य और तिर्यंच दोनों ही वैकियलब्धि प्राप्त होने पर वैक्रियशरीर और वैकिय- अंगोपांग बना सकते हैं। इसी प्रकार छठे गुणस्थान में वर्तमान वैक्रियलब्धि-सम्पन्न मुनि भी वैयिशरीर और पंक्रिय अंगोपांग बना सकते हैं। उस समय उन छठे गुणस्थान वाले मनुष्यों और पाँचवें गुणस्थानवर्ती तियंचों को वैक्रियशरीर और क्रिय- अंगोपांग नामकर्म इन दोनों का उदय अवश्य रहता है। इसलिए पाँचवें और छठे गुणस्थान की उदययोग्य प्रकृतियों में वैकियशरीर और वैक्रिय अंगोपांग नामकर्म इन दोनों प्रकृतियों की गणना की जानी चाहिए ।
समाधान - जिनको जन्म से लेकर मरण तक यावज्जीवन वैक्रियशरीर और वैक्रिय - अंगोपांग नामकर्म का उदय रहता है। ऐसे देव और नारकों की अपेक्षा मे यहाँ उदयविचार किया गया है। किन्तु मनुष्यों और तिर्यों को तो कुछ समय के लिए इन दो प्रकृतियों का उदय हो सकता है, सो भी सभी मनुष्यों और तिर्यत्रों को नहीं । इसीलिए मनुष्यों की अपेक्षा से छठे और तियंचों की अपेक्षा से पांचवें गुणस्थान में उक्त दो प्रकृतियों का उदय सम्भव होने पर भी उसकी विवक्षा नहीं की गई है। अर्थात् मनुष्य और तिपंचों को उत्तरवै क्रियशरीर (गुणप्रत्ययिक - लब्धिविशेष से उत्पन्न होने वाला) होता है और वह अविरत सम्यक्त्वी चक्रबर्ती आदि को भी हो सकता है तथा विष्णुकुमारादिक मुनियों को भी लिन्धि प्राप्त हो गई थी और छठे कर्मग्रन्थ में भी योग के मांगों में अप्रमत्तको वैयद्वि का उदय कहा है, परन्तु यहाँ गुणप्रत्ययिक उत्तर
