Gommatasara Karmakanda-49 Special Meaning - The living being who ascends the Upshama श्रेणी goes to the tenth गुणस्थान. There, he attains an excellent अनुभागबन्ध of the high गोत्र. Afterwards, he goes to the Upshantakषायगुणस्थान. Later, the same living being returns to the tenth गुणस्थान, then he attains an unexcellent बन्ध of the high गोत्र. There, this unexcellent बन्ध is called सादि बन्ध, because previously there was an absence of this बन्ध, but it started happening again. From the सूक्ष्मसापरायगुणस्थान, the बन्ध of this nature for the living beings of the lower गुणस्थान is अनादि, for the अभव्य living beings it is ध्रुवबन्ध, and for those of the Upshama श्रेणी, when the excellent बन्ध happens after the absence of the unexcellent बन्ध, it is अध्रुवबन्ध.
Even in अजघन्य, these four types of बन्ध are as follows:
The नारकीजीव who goes to the seventh नरक, the बन्ध he does of the low गोत्र before the peak time of मिथ्यात्व is अनादिबन्ध. And the same living being, when he becomes inclined towards प्रथमोपशमसम्यक्त्व, he had done अयअनुगमध of the low गोत्र at the peak time of मिथ्यात्व. Having become सम्यग्दृति, he again becomes मिथ्यादृष्टि due to the rise of मिथ्यात्व, then he does the अजघन्य अनुभाग बन्ध of the low गोत्र. Thus, in that place, there is सादिबन्ध of the low गोत्र. Then, the बन्ध of the low गोत्र that happens in the second and subsequent times of the same मिथ्यादृष्टि living being is अनादि. And the अजघन्यअनुभागबन्ध of the low गोत्र of the अभव्यजीव is ध्रुवबन्ध. Except for अजघन्य, when it is attained by जघन्य, that बन्ध is अध्रुव. Thus, in the अनुभागबन्ध of the अजघन्य low गोत्र, there are four distinctions: सादि, अनादि, ध्रुव, and अध्रुव. Similarly, wherever possible, know these four types: सादि, अनादि, ध्रुव, and अध्रुव in other बन्धs as well. There are no four distinctions like उत्कृष्टादि in प्रकृतिबन्ध. In the remaining situations, there are distinctions like उत्कृष्टादि in अनुभाग and प्रदेशबन्ध.
The rule of प्रकृतिबन्ध in the अथानन्तर गुणस्थान is stated as follows:
सम्मेव तित्थबन्धो आहारदुर्ग पमादरहिदेसु।
मिस्सूणे आउस्स य मिच्छादिसु सेसबंधोदु ॥१२॥
Meaning: The बन्ध of the तीर्थंकरप्रकृति happens only in the सम्यक्त्व अवस्था. The बन्ध of आहारकद्विक happens in the अप्रमत्त गुणस्थान. The बन्ध of आयु happens from the मिथ्यात्वगुणस्थान to the अप्रमत्तगुणस्थान, without the मिश्रगुणस्थान.
Special Meaning: The बन्ध of the तीर्थंकरप्रकृति happens only in सम्यग्दृष्टि, from the fourth गुणस्थान to the sixth part of अपूर्वकरण. The बन्ध of आहारकशरीर-आहारकअङ्गोपाङ्गका happens from the अप्रमत्त गुणस्थान to the sixth part of अपूर्वकरण. And the बन्ध of आयुकर्म happens from the मिथ्यात्वगुणस्थान to the अप्रमत्तगुणस्थान, without the मिश्रगुणस्थान and the मिश्रकाययोग that has attained the निर्वृत्तिअपर्याप्तअवस्था. Know the बन्ध of the remaining प्रकृतिs in their respective मिथ्यादृष्टि etc. गुणस्थानs, until their बन्धव्युच्छित्ति.
