शब्द से संयम, देशसंयम, लेश्या और सम्यक्त्व से गुणा करके सबको जोड़ने से जो प्रमाण हो उतनी ही वहाँ पर मोहनीय कर्म के उदयस्थानों की और प्रकृतियों की संख्या जाननी चाहिए।
मिच्छदुगे मिस्सतिये, पमत्तसत्ते जिणे य सिद्धे य ।
पण छस्सत्त दुगं च य, उवजोगा होंति दो चेव ॥ ४९१ ॥
अर्थ - मिथ्यात्व और सासादन इन दो गुणस्थानों में तीन अज्ञान और दो दर्शन ये पाँच उपयोग हैं। मिश्र, असंयत व देशसंयत इन तीन गुणस्थानों में तीन ज्ञान व तीन दर्शन इस प्रकार ६ उपयोग हैं। प्रमत्त, अप्रमत्त, अपूर्वकरण, अनिवृत्तिकरण, सूक्ष्मसाम्पराय, उपशान्तकषाय व क्षीणकषाय इन सात गुणस्थानों में चार ज्ञान और तीन दर्शन ये सात उपयोग हैं। सयोगी व अयोगी जिन में तथा सिद्धों में केवलज्ञान और केवलदर्शन ये दो उपयोग हैं। '
विशेषार्थ - मिथ्यात्वगुणस्थान में प्रकृति स्थान दश प्रकृतिरूप एक नौ-नौ प्रकृतिरूप दो, आठ प्रकृतिरूप एक इस प्रकार सर्व चार स्थान हैं। इन स्थानों की प्रकृतियों का जोड़ ३६ है तथा अनन्तानुबन्धी रहित नौ प्रकृतिरूप एक, आठ-आठ प्रकृति रूप दो और सात प्रकृतिरूप एक इस प्रकार इन चार स्थानों की ३२ प्रकृतियां मिलाकर सर्व आठ स्थान और ६८ प्रकृतियाँ हुईं इनको पाँच उपयोग से गुणा करने पर ४० स्थान और ३४० प्रकृतियाँ तयाँ होती है और | सासादन गुणस्थान में नौ प्रकृतिरूप एक, आठ-आठ प्रकृतिरूप दो और सात प्रकृतिरूप एक इस प्रकार चार स्थान और ३२ प्रकृति को पाँच उपयोग से गुणा करने पर २० स्थान और १६० प्रकृतियाँ होती हैं। मिश्रगुणस्थान में नौ प्रकृतिरूप एक, आठ-आठ प्रकृतिरूप दो और सात प्रकृतिरूप एक इस प्रकार चार स्थान और इनकी ३२ प्रकृतियों को ६ उपयोग से गुणा करने पर २४ स्थान और १९२ प्रकृतियाँ होती हैं। असंयतगुणस्थान में वेदसम्यक्त्वसहित पहले कूट में नौ प्रकृतिरूप एक, आठ-आठ प्रकृतिरूप दो और सात प्रकृतिरूप एक स्थान इस प्रकार ४ स्थान और ३२ प्रकृतियाँ हैं तथा वेदकसम्यक्त्वरहित पिछले कूट में आठ प्रकृति रूप एक, सात प्रकृतिरूप दो और छह प्रकृतिरूप एक स्थान इस प्रकार चार स्थान और उनकी २८ प्रकृतियाँ हैं उपर्युक्त चार स्थानों में ये चार स्थान मिलाने से ८ स्थान और ३२ प्रकृतियों में ये २८ प्रकृतियाँ मिलाने पर ६० प्रकृतियाँ हुईं, इनमें छह उपयोग से गुणा करने पर ४८ स्थान और ३६० प्रकृतियाँ होती हैं ।
देशसंयत गुणस्थान में वेदकसम्यक्त्वसहित पहले कूट में ८ प्रकृतिरूप एक, सात प्रकृतिरूप दो और छह प्रकृतिरूप एक स्थान ऐसे चार स्थान हैं और उनकी २८ प्रकृतियाँ हैं तथा वेदकसम्यक्त्वरहित पिछले कूट में सात प्रकृतिरूप एक, छह प्रकृतिरूप दो और पाँच प्रकृतिरूप एक स्थान ये चार स्थान
