गोम्मटसार कर्मकाण्ड-४६४ यहाँ एक ही ग्रहण किया, इसका कारण यह है कि पूर्व में ४ प्रकृति रूप जो तीन स्थान कहे थे उन तीनों में समानता होने से दो पुनरुक्त स्थानों को कम कर दिया। जिनमें प्रकृतियों की समानता पाई जाती है ऐसे पुनरुक्त स्थानों को घटाने पर जो स्थान रहे उन सभी का जोड़ ४० है और प्रत्येक स्थान २४-२४ भंग सयुक्त है अत: ४० स्थानों को २४ भंगों से गुणा करने पर ४०४२४-९६०, इनमें दो प्रकृति रूप स्थान के पूर्वोक्त २४ भंगों में से १२ पुनरुक्त भंग कम कर देने पर शेष १२ रहे अतः उनको मिलाने से तथा एक प्रकृतिरूप स्थान के पूर्व कथित ११ भंगों में से छह पुनरुक्तभंग घटाकर शेष ५ भंग मिलाने से ९६०+१२+५=९७७ भंग होते हैं।' इन ९७७ भंगों में पाई जाने वाली प्रकृतियों की संख्या कहते हैं
णवसयसत्तत्तरिहि, ठाणवियप्पेहिं मोहिदा जीवा।
इगिदालूणत्तरिसयपयडिवियप्पेहिं णादव्वा ॥४८९।। अर्थ- इस प्रकार ९७७ स्थान और उनमें पाई जाने वाली ६९४१ प्रकृतियों के भेदों में तीनों लोकों के सभी जीव मोहित हो रहे हैं।
विशेषार्थ- पूर्वोक्त गाथा में कथित ९७७ भंगा की प्रकृतियाँ इस प्रकार हैं- दस प्रकृतिरूप एक स्थान की १०, नौ प्रकृतिरूप ६ स्थानों की ५४, आठ प्रकृतिरूप ११ स्थानों की ८८, सात प्रकृति रूप १० स्थानों की ७०, छह प्रकृतिरूप सात स्थानों की ४२, पाँच प्रकृतिरूप चार स्थानों की २०, चार प्रकृति रूप एक स्थान की ४ इनको जोड़ने पर २८८ प्रकृतियाँ हुई, इनको २४ भंगों से गुणा करने पर २८८x२४-६९१२ प्रकृतियाँ, तथा दो प्रकृतिरूपस्थान के १२-१२ भंग एक-एक प्रकृति के गिने इसलिए २४ भंग तथा एक प्रकृतिरूप स्थान के पाँच भंग इस प्रकार ये २९ भेद और मिलाने पर ६९१२+२९-६९४१ भेद हुए।
आगे मोहनीय कर्म के उदयस्थान तथा उनकी प्रकृतियों को गुणस्थानों में उपयोगादि की अपेक्षा से कहते हैं---
उदयट्ठाणं पयडिं, सगसगउवजोगजोगआदीहिं।
गुणयित्ता मेलविदे, पदसंखा पयडिसंखा य ॥४९०॥ अर्थ- 'पुष्पिल्लेसुविमिलिदे' इत्यादि गाथा ४७९ में कही हुई उदयस्थान की संख्या और उन स्थानों की प्रकृतियों की संख्या को अपने-अपने गुणस्थानों में संभावित ऐसे उपयोग और योग आदि
