Gommatasara Karmakanda-461: When a being ascends the श्रेणी (stages of spiritual progress) with the उदय (arising) of पुरुषवेद (male karma), the बंधव्युच्छित्ति (cessation of binding) and उदयव्युच्छित्ति (cessation of arising) of पुरुषवेद occur simultaneously. Or, as indicated by the चकार (conjunction), the बंधव्युच्छित्ति occurs at the द्विचरमसमय (second extreme point) of उदय. When a being ascends the श्रेणी with the उदय of स्त्रीवेद (female karma) and नपुंसकवेद (neuter karma), the बंधव्युच्छित्ति of पुरुषवेद occurs at the द्विचरमसमय of both (स्त्री-नपुंसक) वेद. Or, पुरुषवेद remains bound until the चरमसमय (extreme point) of the सवेदभाग (portion of karma).
Special Meaning: When a being ascends the क्षपकश्रेणी (stage of spiritual progress) with the उदय of क्रोधसंजलण (agitation of anger) and पुरुषवेद, the पुरुषवेद remains bound for a period of two आवली (units of time) less than one समय (unit of time) at the चरमसमय of the सवेदभाग. This is because the being has destroyed the old karma related to पुरुषवेद, which was present in the सत्ता (existence) of पुरुषवेद, along with the six नोकषाय (types of passions) at the द्विचरमसमय of the सवेदभाग. Therefore, the जघन्य (inferior) and उत्कृष्ट (superior) time of the five प्रकृतिक स्थान (natural states) is two आवली less than one समय. This shows that the बंधव्युच्छित्ति of पुरुषवेद occurs at the द्विचरमसमय of उदय.
The बंध (binding) of the twelve प्रकृति (natural states) in the first part of the अनिवृत्तिकरणगुणस्थान (stage of non-return) is due to two प्रकृति-रूप उदयस्थान (stages of arising). The भंग (destruction) of these twelve प्रकृति is due to four कषाय (passions) and three वेद (karmas). In the second part of the नवम गुणस्थान (ninth stage of spiritual progress), the बंध of four प्रकृति occurs. There, too, the भंग of twelve प्रकृति is due to two प्रकृति-रूप उदयस्थान for one समय. Thus, the भंग of twenty-four प्रकृति is due to two प्रकृति-रूप उदयस्थान in two बधस्थान (stages of binding).
In the मायालोहाणियहिभाग (stage of the subtle body), the भंग of four प्रकृति is due to one तिदुग (threefold) उदय, while the भंग of one प्रकृति is due to one सुहुमे (subtle) उदय.
