गाथा ३५५-३५६
एक कम एकट्ठीप्रमाण अक्षरों का सङ्गप्रविष्ट और मङ्गवाह्य में विमाजन
मज्झिमपदवखरवाहिदवण्णा ते अंगपुज्यगपदाणि । सेसक्खरसंखा प्रो पइण्णयाणं पमाणं तु ॥३५५।।
गाथार्थ-मध्यमपद के अक्षरों से समस्त अक्षरों को विभाजित करने पर जो लब्ध प्राप्त हो उतने पदप्रमाण अक्षर तो अंग व पूर्व सम्बन्धित हैं। शेष अंगबाह्य के अक्षरों की संख्या है ।।३५५।।
विशेषार्थ- अक्षरसंयोग की अपेक्षा द्रव्य श्रुत का प्रमाण एक लाख चौरासी हजार चार सौ सड़सठ कोडाकोड़ी चवालीस लाख तिहत्तर सौ सत्तर करोड़ पंचानवेलाख इक्यावन हजार छह सौ पन्द्रह (१८४४६७४४०७३७०६५५१६१५) होता है। क्योंकि चौंसठ अक्षरों के एक दो संयोगादि रूप भंगों से इतने संयोगाक्षरों की उत्पत्ति होती है। पद की अपेक्षा अंगश्रुत (द्वादशांग) का प्रमाण एक सौ बारह करोड़ तेरासी लाल अट्ठावन हजार पांच (११२८३५८००५) पद प्रमाण है।

समाधान--सोलह सौ चौंतीस करोड़ तेरासी लाख अठत्तर सौ अठासी (१६३४८३०७८८८) संयोग अक्षरों का एक मध्यमपद होता है। एक मध्यमपद के संयोगाक्षरों का पूर्वोक्त सब अक्षरों में भाग देने पर पूर्वोक्त अंगपदों की उत्पत्ति होती है ।
फोटोशतं वावश व कोटयो लक्षाण्यशीतिस्न्यधिकानि चैव । पंचाशदष्टौ च सहलसंख्या एतच्छतं पंचपदं नमामि ॥६॥
