गायार्थ- जिन जीवों में पुण्य और पाप के उत्पादकशुभ और अशुभ योग नहीं होते हैं वे अनुपम और अनन्त बल सहित प्रयोगी जिन हैं || २४३ ||
विशेषार्थ - शङ्का - अशुभ योग क्या हैं ?
समाधान — हिंसा, चोरी और मैथुन यादिक अशुभ काययोग हैं। और असभ्य वचन यादि यशुभ वचन योग हैं। मारने का विचार, मनोयोग हैं।

शङ्का - शुभ योग क्या हैं
समाधान हिंसा, अचौर्य, ब्रह्मचर्य आदि शुभ कार्य योग हैं। शुभ वचनयोग हैं। अर्हन्त भक्ति, तप की रुचि श्रुत का विनय आदि विचार शुभ मनोयोग हैं ।

शङ्का-योग के शुभ और अशुभ भेद किस कारण से हैं ?
समाधान- जो योग शुभ परिणाम के निमित्त से होता है, वह शुभ योग हैं और जो योग अशुभ परिणाम के निमित्त से होता है वह अशुभ योग है ।
शङ्का - जो शुभ कर्म का कारण है वह शुभ योग है और जो अशुभ कर्म का कारण है वह अशुभ योग है। ऐसा क्यों नहीं कहा गया ?
समाधान- नहीं, यदि इस प्रकार इनका लक्षरण किया जाएगा तो शुभयोग ही नहीं हो सकता, क्योंकि शुभ योग से भी ज्ञानावरणादि अशुभ कर्मों का प्रात्रव होता है। शुभ अशुभ योग का जो लक्षण कहा गया है, वही सही है ।
शङ्का - यदि ऐसा है अर्थात् शुभ योग से भी प्रशुभ कर्मों का प्रात्रव होता है तो शुभयोग पुण्य का उत्पादक है, यह कैसे कहा गया ?
समाधान - श्रघातिकर्मों में जो पुण्य और पाप हैं, उनकी अपेक्षा पुण्य-पाप हेतुता का निर्देश है। अथवा 'शुभ पुण्य का ही कारण है' ऐसा अवधारण ( निश्चय ) नहीं किया, किन्तु 'शुभ ही पुण्य का कारण है ।' यह अवधारण किया गया है ।
