परित्याग होता है । अतएव प्रमत्तसंयत अपर्याप्तावस्था में भी पर्याप्त है; इसप्रकार का उपचार किया जाता है । निश्चयनय का प्राश्चय करने पर तो वह अपर्याप्त ही है ।
नित्यपर्याप्तावस्था में सम्यक्त्व और लन्ध्यपर्याप्तावस्था में सासादन के अभाव का नियम
'हेटिम छप्पुढवीणं, जोइसिवरणभवरणसव्वइत्थीणं ।
पुगिणदरे रहि सम्मो, ण सासणो रणारयापुण्णे ।।१२८॥ गाथार्थ--नीचे को छह पृथ्वियों के, ज्योतिषी-वाणव्यन्तर-भवनवासी देवों के और सर्व स्त्रियों के निवृत्त्यपर्याप्तक अवस्था में सम्यग्दर्शन नहीं होता। नारकियों के अपर्याप्तावस्था में सासादन गुणस्थान भी नहीं होता है ॥१२८।।
विशेषा -हनामा देशकर्षन है : नारकियों के अपर्याप्तावस्था में सासादनगुणस्थान नहीं होता। इसके द्वारा चारों गतियों को अपर्याप्तावस्था में कौनसे गुणस्थान होते हैं और कौनकौन से नहीं होते हैं, इसका कथन करने की सूचना दी गई है अत: उसी का यहाँ कथन करते हैं। तद्यथा
शङ्का-मिथ्याष्टिगुणस्थान में नारकियों का सत्त्व रहा भावे, क्योंकि नारकियों में उत्पत्ति का निमित्त कारण मिथ्यादर्शन पाया जाता है, किन्तु अन्य गुणस्थानों में नारकियों का सत्त्व नहीं पाया जाना चाहिए, क्योंकि अन्य गुणस्थानों में नारकियों में उत्पत्ति का कारणभूत मिथ्यात्व नहीं पाया जाता है।
समाधान-ऐसा नहीं है, क्योंकि नरकायु के बन्ध बिना मिथ्यादर्शन-अविरति और कषायों में नरकोत्पत्ति की सामर्थ्य नहीं है। पहले बंधी हुई प्रायु का पीछे से उत्पन्न हुए सम्यग्दर्शन से निरन्वयविनाश भी नहीं होता है, क्योंकि ऐसा मान लेने पर पार्ष से विरोध आता है। जिन्होंने नरकायु का बन्ध कर लिया है, ऐसे जीव जिस प्रकार संयम को प्राप्त नहीं हो सकते हैं उसी प्रकार सम्यक्त्व को प्राप्त नहीं होते हैं यह बात भी नहीं है, क्योंकि ऐसा मान लेने पर सूत्र से विरोध प्राता है। जिन जीवों ने पहले नरकायु का बन्ध किया और पीछे से सम्यग्दर्शन उत्पन्न हुआ ऐसे बद्धायुष्क कृत कृत्यवेदक सम्यग्दृष्टि या क्षायिकसम्यग्दृष्टि की नरक में उत्पत्ति होती है। ऐसे सम्यग्दृष्टि नरक में अपर्याप्तावस्था में पाये जाते हैं, किन्तु सासादनगुणस्थान वाले मरकर नरक में उत्पन्न नहीं होते हैं, मयोंकि सासादन सम्यग्दृष्टियों की नरक में उत्पत्ति नहीं होती है ।
शङ्कर-जिसप्रकार सासादनसम्यग्दृष्टि नरक में उत्पन्न नहीं होते हैं, उसीप्रकार सम्यग्दृष्टियों की मरकर नरक में उत्पत्ति नहीं होनी चाहिए।
समाधान-सम्यग्दृष्टि मरकर प्रथमपृथ्वी में उत्पन्न होते हैं, इसका आगम में निषेध नहीं है ।

Verse meaning: In the state of non-attainable sufficiency of the six lower earths, the celestial beings of the Jyotishi-Vaṇavyantar-Bhavana, and all women, there is no right faith. In the state of insufficiency of the hell beings, there is no sustenance guna-sthana. ||128||

Such right-sighted are found in hell in the state of insufficiency, but those with sustenance guna-sthana do not die and are born in hell, because sustenance right-sighted are not born in hell.
