Jainism & Lord Mahavir
Jain Religion, the ancientmost religion of the Indian land, is supposed to be the eternal & universal dharma, based on the principle of the victory over sensual pleasures. Those who get complete victory over Kammas are called Jin' and their worshippers are called Walns'.
According to Jainism, the universe is not guided by any supreme authority or God but each soul is the Doer (Karta) & Enjoyer (Bhokta) of own Kamas. When the soul destroys all its Karmic entity, it elevates to the Siddha-Shila or Moksha, where it remains engrossed in infinite bliss for all times to come. This salvated soul is known as God, Bhagwan or Parmatma, who never incarnates in the world again.
According to Jain philopy, 24 Tiffan.cara rii:: 115 kal and they propagate Dharma Tirth for innumerable beings to lead to the path of salvation Ahimsa (Non-violence), Satya (Truth), Achourya (Nonstealing), Brahmacharya (Celibacy) and Aparigrah (Non-possession) are the main principles preached by the Tirthankars. Complete or partial renouncement of physical, mental or vocal violence is specially mentioniso for Jain followers. In the present age, the first Tirthankar was Lord Rishabhdev and the 24th Tirthankar was Lord Mahavir, who gave the immortal principle of "Live & Let Live" to the world.
Lord Mahavir was born to king Siddharth and Trishla on Chaitra Shukla Trayodashi at the Kundalpur city of Bihar state 2600 years ago. That Kundalpur Nagari was specially glorified with the showering of jewels for 15 months & divine birth-festival at the time of the birth of Lord.
The names Veer, Vardhman, Sanmati & Mahavir were attributed to Him at Kundalpur Mahavir, a celibate since childhood, accepted Jaineshwani Deeksha at the age of 30 years being detached from the world. He performed hard penance for 12 years. He was honoured with the name 'Mahati Mahavir' by equanimously enduring the harsh atrocities made by Rudra at Ujjaini. Lord got Omniscience (Kavalgyan) at the bank of Rijukula river in Jrambhika village on Vaishakh Shukla Dashmi. The Lord got seated in Samavasaran. After 66 days, his first Divya Dhvani (resonant preaching sound) was revealed on the arrival of Gautam Gandhar at Rajgrihi. He preached innumerable beings for 30 years and then got salvation from the holy land of Pavapuri on Kartik Krishna Amavasya. May the trinity of Tirths situated at the Nalanda district, Bihar – "Kundalour, Rajgrihi & Pavapuri illuminate the path of salvation for the generations to come, this is the auspicious wish.
