अथ रथपरिवृत्यै' सारथौ कृच्छ्रकृच्छ्राद् विषमवलन भुग्नग्रीवमवान्नुनुत्सौ ँ । तिरुति मन्दं वीचिवेगोपशान्ते शिविरमभिनिधीनामीशिता संप्रतस्थे ॥ २०४ ॥ कथमपि रथचक्रं सारयित्वाम्बुरु प्रवणकृत कोपान् वाजिनोऽनुप्रसाध्य । रथमधि जलमब्धौ चोदयामास सूतो जलधिरपि नृपानु व्रज्यवोच्चचाल ॥ २०५ ॥ अयमयमुद्रमारो वारिराशेर्वरूथं स्थगयति रथवेगादेष भिन्नोरिब्धिः । इति किल तटसद्भिस्तर्यमाणो रथोऽयं जवनतुरंगकृष्टः 'प्राप पारेसमुद्रम् ॥ २०६॥

" तरङ्गात्यस्तोऽयं समघटितसर्वाङ्गघटनो रथः क्षेमात् प्राप्तो रथचरणहेतिश्च कुशली । तुरङ्गा धौताङ्गा जलधिसलिलैरक्षतखुरा महत्पुण्यं जिगोरिति किल जजल्पुस्तजुषः ॥२०७॥ नृपैर्गङ्गाद्वारे प्रणतमणिमौल्यर्पित करैरधस्तात्तद्वेद्याः सजयजयघोषैरधिकृतैः" । बहिर्द्वारं'" सैन्यैर्युगपदसकृद्घोषितजयैर्विभुर्दृष्टः प्रापत् स्वशिबिरबाहिस्तोरणभुवम् ॥ २०८॥

अथानन्तर - जब सारथिने बड़ी कठिनाईसे रथ लौटानेके लिए विषम रूपसे घूमनेके कारण गलेको कुछ टेढ़ा कर घोड़ोंको हाँका, मन्द मन्द वायु बहने लगा और लहरोंका वेग शान्त हो गया तब निधियोंके स्वामी भरतने छावनीकी ओर प्रस्थान किया || २०४ || पानीसे रुके हुए रथ के पहियोंको किसी तरह बाहर निकालकर और बार-बार हाँकने अथवा बोझ धारण करनेके कारण कुपित हुए घोड़ोंको प्रसन्न कर सारथि समुद्र में जलके भीतर ही रथ चला रहा था, और वह समुद्र भी उस रथके पीछे-पीछे जानेके लिए ही मानो उछल रहा था ।। २०५ ।। अरे, यह समुद्रकी बड़ी भारी लहर रथकी छतरीको अवश्य ही ढक लेगी और इधर रथके वेगसे समुद्र की लहरें भी फट गयी हैं इस प्रकार किनारेपर खड़े हुए लोग जिसके विषय में अनेक प्रकार के तर्क-वितर्क कर रहे हैं ऐसा वह वेगशाली घोड़ोंसे खींचा हुआ रथ समुद्र के किनारे पर आ पहुँचा ।।२०६।। जिसके समस्त अंगोंकी रचना एक समान सुन्दर है ऐसा यह रथ लहरोंको उल्लंघन करता हुआ कुशलतापूर्वक किनारे तक आ गया है, चक्ररत्नको धारण करनेवाले चक्रवर्ती भरत भी सकुशल आ गये हैं और समुद्र के जलसे जिनके समस्त अंग धुल गये हैं तथा जिनके खुर भी नहीं घिसे हैं ऐसे घोड़े भी राजी खुशी आ पहुँचे हैं । अहा ! विजयी चक्रवर्तीका बड़ा भारी पुण्य है, इस प्रकार किनारेपर खड़े हुए लोग परस्परमें वार्तालाप कर रहे थे ॥२०७॥ जो वेदीके नीचे गंगाद्वारपर नियुक्त किये गये हैं, जिन्होंने नवाये हुए मणिमय मुकुटोंपर अपने-अपने हाथ जोड़कर रखे हैं और जो जय-जय शब्दका उच्चारण कर रहे हैं ऐसे राजा लोग, तथा दरवाजेके बाहर एक साथ बार-बार जयघोष करनेवाले सैनिक लोग जिसे देख
